Hello! I'm back on this app after a loooong hiatus. I live in Liverpool UK, and since ending a relationship 4 months ago my weight has really gone up - put on about 30 pounds.

Now that I work from home and it's really important for me to get this under control. My biggest issues are I sit at a desk for 8 hours, I'm not a good cook so I eat badly, and I'm really bad at estimating what my portion sizes are. Like I can't look at a bowl of cooked rice and think “that's about 150grams”. Is it? I have no clue.

Anyway nice to meet everyone :)

I know the feeling. It has taken me some time of weighing or measuring everything to get better at eyeballing how much it is.

I work from home too, only part time but I still don't go out much, especially in the winter. I found youtube to be my biggest workout friend. I find fun dances and kickboxing routines to do... my favourite are from 10 minute solutions. You can take a 10 minute break and do a quick routine to get your heart rate up and burn some extra calories, go get a glass of water and and go back to work feeling refreshed. Then after a few hours when you need another movement break, try something else. I find it's pretty easy to follow too. This is coming from someone who usually only took 300-500 steps a day.

Anyhow, don't lose hope when if feels tedious all the measuring. Just think how happy you will be when you do reach your goal.

    Best wishes.
