UK 5:2 dieter new to MFP

Hello everyone!

I'm doing the 5:2 diet (although "diet" is the wrong word it's more of a way of life).

I've lost 1st6lb so far but have another 2st8lb to go to get down to an idea weight.

I'm looking for active MFP friends to encourage me and shame my bad habits.

I also know NOTHING about nutrition and do very little exercise (and there's people like me wandering in stupification about their weight!).

So hello again from England, UK.
:-)

I'm from UK too... welcome! I have tried 5:2 but unfortunately it didn't work with my family life - and I couldn't continue.. I did have more success doing the 16:8 though.. I'm on a totally different eating plan now... but in a few weeks would like to incorporate the 16:8 back in.
    Good luck!

Exercise isn't critical to weight loss so your 5:2 calorie intake restriction should be sufficient.

This. 5:2IF has a calorie deficit already factored in, so that's really all you need to do to lose weight.
I did alternate day IF for my weight loss phases (so 5:2 on steroids lol), and then I used 5:2 during the transition period between weight loss and maintenance (I still lost weight during this time too).

    Welcome aboard!
