During highschool I had my own personal trainer due to sports. Now that I'm in college and all by myself I realize I don't actually know what to do at the gym.. I just did whatever my trainer said. Does anyone have any tips on weight lifting? I do alot of cardio but I want to get my arms and abs back into shape! Any excerises that you guys love or any videos you love that I could Could watch thanks!

Hang on, this is teh internet. You'll get yourself killed with online weightlifting advice.
That said, very, very simple: Pick one of starting strength or 5x5 (or what have you) and start so low that you think it's too low. These progressive load beginner programs get heavy faster than your body adjusts in the beginning. You also need all the time you can get to under the bar to beat some kinestethic sense into your muscles before you have to truly concentrate on surviving the set.
You can eat as little or as much as you care until you hit the first plateau. By then you'll know enough about the program you're following to decide on nutrition.
This advice involves barbells and reasonable risk of injury if you don't follow the programs with due diligence. Don't practice alone if you can avoid it. Pay extreme attention to form in the beginning, if you're going solo.
You won't go wrong, close to maximum efficiency re strength gained / time invested. You'll know when to switch programs. Don't even think about switching until you know that you know it's about time.
Or you could just do curls.0
