I know people say eat big get big but here is my problem. I'm pretty skinny 58kg 5ft9 and 19 years old. I've been trying to put on weight and have been doing well until I got a new job. My job is none stop I walk round all day picking up heavy objects burning tons of calories so this makes it hard for me to gain weight. I need about 3000+ calories a day and I'm finding it impossible and losing all my weight I need help. Any advice?

You need to do whatever it takes to get those calories in. I have gone as high as 6000 calories a day. It is not always easy, but it can be done.

Getting calories in should not be difficult. You could easily prepare a morning shake with milk, protein powder, banana, PB and yogurt that could easily get you 1,000 calories...and that is before you even leave the house. Add in a lunch and dinner (of whatever you want) and then a giant serving of Ice Cream for dessert or before bed and you will EASILY be over 3K calories.

There is no such thing as a hardgainer...there are only people who don't eat enough (or know how to eat).

Hell I could go to Dunkin Donuts right now and order 2 Butternut donuts and be over 1k calories with just that alone. I am also a firm believer of IIFYM so eat whatever tastes good to you!

I had an active job as a 19 year old when I started bodybuilding. Thought I was a "hardgainer" till one of my mentors told me just to eat high calorie. So I did a lot of fast food along with my dinner and breakfast. No problem gaining while doing that.

Building muscle is a lifelong process. Other than eating at surplus, my advice is be patient and get rid of the mirrors in your house.

Its about eating the right combination of foods to get you there. Use the link provided above to get an idea of how to help you.

And as a data point, the majority of the old mem here maintain with sedentary jobs at 3000 calories. Its a lot easier that you think to hit that high.
