I keep telling myself that I really want to look good for summer but whenever i see tasty food, i just hAVE to take a little bit! sometimes I'm not even hungry!
Food is just too amazing to me how do i combat this? I know I can find replacement foods but if I see it around my house (i live with roommates who constantly bring snacks around), I will take a bite!
helppp

I have the SAME PROBLEM. I'm trying to better myself for the summer and look better than I do now, but I'm a foodie. I always snag some food if it's around me and I have been craving junk food like crazy ever since I started MFP. Out of my own experience and what I've learned so far, it's really mental. It's hard combating your mind telling you that you want that cupcake or chicken wing, but (especially if you're not even hungry) just try to push that thought off. Break that mental chain and keep walking. Ask yourself, What's more important? Snacking on junk food for 5 minutes of enjoyment, or reaching your goal for lifetime of enjoyment?2

I am a foodie too and totally get that feeling of "I have to have it". You have to reteach yourself.
When think "have to have it", recognize that that isn't true. You aren't starving, physically you don't "have to". This isn't the only time in your life you'll have the opportunity to eat "example of food" so it's not like you are missing an opportunity.
Whenever you have that thought, make a resolution so tell yourself "dinner is so much more enjoyable when in hungry for it" or "I'll be proud of myself if I say no this time". CREATE the good habit! You are that powerful.
I bet that you do that for three days, and saying no will be 99% easier.4 -

Work them into your calorie goal. Try to pre-plan them/pre-log.2

When I started two years ago trying to lose weight, I was the same way. And I thought it would be impossible for me to lose any weight because I loved yummy food too much and couldn't resist it/always thinking about it. Then one night I just had a huge breakdown and was like enough is enough and decided to take control and stop making excuses. You have to really want it. It's been a long road and I know alot of people reach there goals in a matter of months and its taken me a lot longer then most but I'm 10 pounds away from my ultimate goal weight. It's taken so long becuase i do have treats a lot more often then I should but it's all about moderation and a serious lifestyle change. You gotta be in it for the long haul. I don't give up calorie dense foods, I just have less of them or make them fit my calorie goal and long everything. Also, you'd be surprised how many delicious things you can make in the kitchen that are low calorie, healthy and satisfying with lots of research on Pinterest and getting creative.
A fee examples,
2 ingredient banana oat cookies are amazing especially adding Blueberries or chocolate chips or coconut.
Greek yogurt with honey and berries
Waffles made out of protein powder and egg whites
Pumpkin pie pudding with just canned pumpkin and sugar free vanilla pudding and Pumpkin pie spice.
The list goes on and on.
Plus steak, chicken, any all the all the veggies you want and tons of fruit. Losing weight doesn't need to be boring.3 -
