Slimming World

I am in my second week of Slimming World. I lost all my weigh with Lighter Life,(13stone 8lbs - 5 years ago) and have recently been juicing ( Jason Vale) and had a go at the NurtiBullet. All have been VERY SUCCESSFUL, but feel I want to go back to preparing real food, and sitting down to eat with the family, whilst keeping an eye on what I am actually eating!
So have joined Slimming World On Line (11stone), real food at last. To my amazement I lost 2.5 lbs last week, and seemed to eat loads! My goal is 10 stone to 10st 7lbs.
I exercise most days, playing golf 3 times a week, where possible.
I am after a buddy/friend, to keep an eye on me. To make sure I am following the plan as I should be. Also I would like to ask, "Can Slimming World on line work along side with MFP, as to how many calories I should have for the day to loose? ( I use to have 1200 - but perhaps that is to low on SW)
Can you be with me on my journey to 10stone/10 stone 7lbs. ?

To be honest, it really seems like you jump from one fad to next. I hope I am wrong, but I don't really think that will be successful long term. If it is, great for you!
No real food would definitely be a deal breaker for me.
I honestly don't know much about slimming world or its program. To me, portion control and moderation would lead to long term success but everyone is different.
Good luck!0 -
Thank you for your honest reply. I agree portion control is the way forward, along with exercise of course!

I don't really understand SW with it's complex rules and jargon, it does work in real life but that may be in part due to the meetings and weigh-ins.
MFP only measures macronutrients and calories so you would need a SW specific app for the best experience - is there one ?0 -
There are loads of Facebook groups, and Instagram accounts that are specifically tailored to the kind of support you are looking for.
I'm 4' 11" and didn't find any success with SW because I eat too many free foods, because the plan tells me I can, and I wasn't losing any weight (some weeks I lost, some I gained but overall over 3 months I was the same as I started) and I am overweight by around 2 stones so I have plenty to lose.
My own personal belief is that SW is brilliant if it works for you, but I feel it didn't for me because it didn't enable a calorie deficit. I asked about combining SW with calorie tracking and the group leader hugely discouraged it.
I have now moved away from SW and I'm purely calorie counting to give myself a decent deficit daily. This means I eat what I want, when I want but I'm focused on portion control and as a result I'm making great decisions with my food. I'm also more inclined to exercise to either increase my deficit, or to eat more food!
