Anyone else lose weight and tone using a fitness/5 lb hula hoop? I've seen great results on the Internet but looking for personal experiences! If so how long did you hoop and how frequently?

it can certainly help but it's about the deficit. you need to eat at a calorie deficit. it doesn't matter how much you hoop if you are eating more than your body is burning
hooping is fun and gets you moving. it can help define your muscles.

I use my 8-lb weighted hoop for easy cardio when I'm in a lupus flare and my joints are super sensitive. It's very low impact. I doubt I would lose weight from it, but it's easy. I can stand in front of a tv show for an hour and keep it up...get a little sweat and keep my body moving to avoid further joint pain from a flare. But weight loss comes from a caloric deficit....you could hoop all day with the heaviest hoop you can find, but if you're eating more than you're burning you won't lose weight.0

I've had a lot of negative feedback for my deficit. I take in as close to 1200 calories a day. Usually 10 to 80 calories less if I don't meet it I have a desk job and eat healthy and often. I drink a lot of water and feel good. I have a desk job and the hula hooping if I get to it is my most active part of the day. I'm only 5'2 and feel like it's a good amount for me1
