It's just been month since I've started working out but I got something coming up which is in 3 months.Should I go for such a programme? Also, can anyone suggest any programme which does not require any special foods(like eat chicken breast at this time, protein shake at that time, etc)?

I don't see why not. I was completely inactive except for cycling an just finished Body for Life. It's a 12 week program. It's pretty old, but good ol' common sense for the most part. You need to be disciplined and good at planning to succeed however.

Body for life is the best! If you look on bodybuilding.com and look for Bill Philips, back to fit, that is basically his newer version of body for life.

I like time-bound programs. They work well for me. Which one you choose will depend on what type of exercise you prefer. P90X3 works well for me because it's only 30 minutes, 90 days, a different workout everyday since I get bored easily, and I generally prefer strength training over cardio. It is pricey, and you do need some equipment. It comes with a nutrition guide, but I do my own thing and ignore all the Shakeology ads. There are lots of great programs out there. Just find one that suits you and go for it! Best of luck to you!

If you don't want to follow a programme, then don't. Meal timing is not very important, it's almost unimportant. You can eat whatever you like, lose weight if you eat at a calorie deficit, and you will be stronger if you use your muscles and strengthen heart and lungs if you do cardio. Nothing special about anything, what matters is that you DO something.

    Eating Program: IIFYM
Lifting program: 5/3/1, stronglifts, starting strength, p/p/l

Noob starter pack right there. Don't overthink it. Just get in the gym -- and the kitchen

What's your plan after the 12 weeks?
