Body fat % accuracy | Fitbit Aria - with pictures

Hi everyone, this is me: 1.69m and 74Kg (female)
According to Fitbit Aria I have 33.4% body fat. According to google I'm obese and at health risk.
My boyfriend (who's into strenght training and has interest in the industry) says it's impossible that my BF is that high. My masseur, who's a PT as well, has the same opinion.
What do you people think? Is it possible that number is correct? Anybody else with the same scale have issues?
It's really frustrating... my goal at the moment is to lose 6Kg more and keep lifting, that's why I've been keeping an eye on macros and calories, so BF is really important for me.
Please help!

Aria is notoriously off! You have a nicely balanced hourglass shape & it's still off! Women like me who are inverted triangles, or apples, or rulers fare even worse. You could try setting it to lean mode but it's still a crapshoot. A dexa scan costs about $125 to get done commercially and is highly accurate. If you're serious about body composition save yourself grief & start there.0

you look pretty similar to me and I just moved out of supposedly "obese" according to the online body fat % calculators into "acceptable" when I measured and was down one inch in my hips/butt. I don't know how they can possibly say that people our size are obese, I would just disregard that word if I were you. I personally can't take it seriously. yes I had some extra weight, but I was by no means obese at any point. you clearly are not either.0

I have the same scale. Not sure on the accuracy (if I remember correctly scales can be 5-10% off), but I'm getting a trend of 20.7% from it. I don't have the money to get a more accurate test done, but I'm curious to see how accurate it is for me.
edit: I did find this thread. There is a post of a rather thin woman on page 5 that got a dexa scan which said she was 27%.

I changed my profile to "lean mode" and now it's giving me 27.8 % BF. I still think it's a bit high, but hey I might be wrong... I'll measure today at the gym (they have a machine there) just to see if it matches.
I regret so much buying this Aria
thank you for your replies!0 -

Well my "body fat " scales (which apparently are *kitten* at being accurate ) tell me im 25-26% bf, feel free to check my pics for an idea of my shape just for a comparison!0 -

Our body types are similar my trainer took my measurements last week. My body fat is at 26% waist 30 inches and hips 40 inches.0 -
Based on those pics, I actually think 33 is probably close with reality being more like 30-31.

I think 33% seems way possible based on the pictures, remember that women can carry quite a bit of fat and still look pretty lean. You are built GREAT so everything is in proportion. As you don't look like you are very muscled, while there's no reason to trust the scale, visually it's in the ballpark. Look up the images using google, you are built so much like the 30% hourglass lady in a bikini picture.
Men often underestimate what women's bodyfat is or should be. The Fiance was stunned that when underweight and fit mine was 20% but that's really well toward the low side for a woman. I had no visible fat but was hiding 25lb of fat somewhere. When his bodyfat is 20% he looks fat.0
