Children after big weight loss

So I have been thinking about this for months for some reason so I figured I would get some opinions. I am single, not sure if I want kids, approaching 30. I have lost about 55 lbs total in this arduous task that is called weight loss. The idea of gaining it back after reaching my goal weight is making me not want to have kids AT ALL. This is one of the hardest and longest journeys and honestly despite all of the progress and emotional growth that I have achieved, I'm not really wanting to do it again. I know that you don't have to gain a lot when pregnant, but a lot of the cravings are hormone induced as well as "eating for 2", and if the cravings are anything like the ones I get when PMSing, I don't really stand a chance.

Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions? Feel the same?

I think that if you eat healthy and continue doing light exercise you will be fine. I gained no weight with my first pregnancy and only 8 lbs with my second. I weighed less with both the day i left the hospital than i did the day i got pregnant. However, i was very heavy. I just changed my entire eating habits once i knew that i was eating for my unborn child (too bad i couldnt keep it up after that). We are now going to start TTC number 3 early next year and i'm a bit worried about the weight gain but i know that as long as i stay healthy and active, my body will do what it needs to do. My sister just gave birth to my nephew last week. She started at 135 lbs and only gained 24 lbs. 10 days later she's already lost 13. There are people who gain massive amounts of weight but you also have control over a lot of it.

Don't worry about it. You only need an extra 200-250 calories a day when you're pregnant, and if you already exercise, your doctor will tell you it's okay to keep doing so for a while. I'm not trying to be rude, but the people who gain 50-100 pounds probably already have unhealthy eating habits and use pregnancy as an excuse. I only gained 21 pounds and it all fell off in a week after I gave birth. I was overweight to begin with and still overweight after I got rid of the baby fat, which is why I'm trying to lose weight now. My baby had nothing to do with it, except now I'm overweight with stretch marks.

As others have said, you don't actually have to eat for 2. Also, not everyone gets cravings. I did have cravings, but only gained 20 pounds total (lost 5, then gained that back plus 15) and it was gone by 2 weeks after my daughter was born. There are some people who gain 30+, but it is about eating healthy for the baby.

Whew... Thanks! I was just reading this article with Vanessa Mannilo and she gained 65 lbs.... But I guess I would just continue to eat healthy and not throw all caution to the wind. Thanks a lot, you ladies really helped nip that fear in the bud
