So I decide instead of going out to eat for lunch everyday, I am going to pack a sandwich and healthy snacks for the whole week! Sound's crazy I know. Does anyone have any suggestions for yummy bread that's more natural and doesn't break the calorie bank? Thanks!

I get the Sara Lee delight bread. It's Multigrain and on 45 calories per slice.0

I do this too. Have you tried wraps? One wrap has less calories than two pieces of bread. I usually fill mine up with veg: lettuce, red cabbage, radish etc and some ham and take that with maybe a banana. I took carrot sticks last week.
I've also had peppers and chicken but I haven't taken that to work yet as I don't really want to reheat it.
I am also looking at homemade noodles in a pot, I might try that next1 -

Uhm, you do realise that preparing lunch is something most people around the world do daily, right?
So, if you feel you are being somehow weird, stop
Anyway, bread is bread. It might come in different flavours, have more or less fiber, more or less preservatives, more or less protein, but in the end, it is bread. With more or less the same calories. The basic way to get a low calorie bread is to have very thin slices.
If you feel that you cannot fit bread daily in your calories for lunch, or find daily sandwiches too boring or not worth the calories, try different lunches. Anything you have for dinner can be also lunch, so the simplest is preparing some extra when you are making dinner. Or if you are looking for easy to prepare things that do not need reheating: boiled eggs, omelettes, salads, yoghurt and nuts/fruit, cold cuts and fresh vegetables.0 -
I second low carb tortillas instead of bread. I love bread, but not the 40 calories stuff, and low carb tortillas are tasty for 60-80 calories (and they have a bunch of protein and fiber too!).
Sandwiches are a once in a while thing for me now, and I usually regret it later because I get too hungry0 -
I like the Pepperidge Farms soft style wheat...only 45 cal per slice.0

Heck, I've been making my own sandwiches for work for the past umpty-years. How crazy am I???
I use the Calise bulkie rolls (170 cals), or the Panera Bread Country White (70 cals per slice).
If I want a break from carbs, I just knock up a salad the night before.0 -
I love sandwiches, but unless I made the meats myself the deli stuff has way too much sodium for me to eat them every day. Even the "Low Sodium" versions suck most of the time. I guess if they didn't have the sodium they would go bad by the time they hit the shelves in the stores.0

We love the Toufayan smart pockets. One pocket is 80 calories (wheat) and the original (white) is 100 calories. We fill ours with meat/cheese/lettuce/hot peppers and a little bit of Ken's light Caesar dressing.0

I use Nature's Own 40cals/slice but tbh it gets really mushy fast so I don't use condiments on it, and I wouldn't make a PBJ out of it. It's too thin and airy to hold up to anything other than one slice of cheese and a few pieces of lunch meat.0

Organic Eziekiel bread. It has fiber, protein and 80 calories per slice.0

i make lunch everyday and sometimes its homemade sushi or really involved things.. nothing crazy about making lunch.. especially a sandwich lol. If im eating bread im eating the good stuff.. real artisan crusty delicious bread.. or a croissant. I have no suggestions for anything low cal.0

The bread is the best part of the sandwich for me so I don't skimp on calories. If I was to cut calories I'd use less cheese/oil/mayo/whatever.
Generally I set aside 400-500 calories for a sandwich. My advice to make it more filling is to choose good bread (I use white, thick sliced, crusty bread) and fill with various veggies. If using cheese try a strong cheese where a little goes a long way. My favorite is goats cheese. I only need about 15-20 grams in a sandwich. Same with things like mayo. I use full fat but only like 10 grams. If using olive oil, only about 5 grams. Grilled veggies, chutney, salsa, and mustard add tons of flavor so you don't need a lot of fat to make it tasty.0 -
I eat Fiber One every day for lunch during the week. 100 cal for 2 slices, and it doesn't taste bad. And always a pb&j, too. My wife calls the bread sawdust, but it's filling and I get my fiber moving along.0
