Just sore or did I injure myself?

Hi all, as the title indicates I don't know if I'm just being a wimp or if I actually did something. I went rockwall climbing Friday afternoon and during the climb I noticed my forearms were swollen, so I promptly got down and stopped for the day. Now it is Monday afternoon and I still can't pick up my waterbottle, hold my phone, or make certain motions with my right arm, the left is fine. The right one hurts specifically on the lateral side of the elbow and also from shoulder top to just below the armpit. I know nobody can tell me for sure if it is injured or whatnot, just need an opinion from someone who works out as to whether this is normal this long afterwards.

You just worked muscles that typically don't get activated! This happened to me when I started rock climbing and again when I first started lifting (I was using improper form which activated odd muscles). The swelling is due to your muscles repairing themselves and holding water. Drink a lot, massage your forearms and try taking a BCAA to help the muscles heal quicker.

You'll probably be fine. New activity is going to create some intense soreness for up to a week.

Sounds like a bit of a strain. Have you been giving it the RICE protocol (look it up)? If not, do so. It's been three days, so you should start seeing improvement from here on out. If it isn't significantly better in a couple more days, best to get it looked at. In the meantime, RICE.
