How does one get the calories burnt for strength training on MFP?

I do a fair bit of strength training every day; while the app picks up the exercises it does not display the calories burnt or factor that into the overall calorific intake for the day. However, it does this for cardio exercises. Am I missing something fundamental here ? I joined MFP yesterday and I am new to everything here.

You have to purchase the pro version for starters. You also need a wrist band or smart watch to connect UA Record0

You have to find your strength training activity under cardio. The strength part is just used as a log of exercises alone.0

I enter my strength training manually and it adds the calories burned just like the cardio. No fancy wrist watch or premium membership needed.0
