I started a new group if anyone is interested. There are six week challenges for weight loss, fitness, and other challenges related to health but not focused on weight and exercise. Here is the link and description:

Great day my fellow MFPers! This group is going to focus on setting goals that are not just weight loss/gain and exercise related (although there will be some of those too). It is about setting goals to increase your happiness and satisfaction with life. It could be learning a new skill, doing something you always wanted to do, motivating yourself to actually do those things that make you happy, etc. I hope you join but most of all I hope you find health, happiness & more.

It's just a few days until our 6 week challenges running from May 1 to June 11!
Six week weight loss challenge
Six week fitness challenge
Six week try something new challenge
The try something new challenge is to try and change a new activity into a habit. It could be reading a book a week, geocaching 3 times a week, moisturizing every day for skin health, pretty much any new activity that supports your health and/or happiness.
Ideas for other challenges are always greatly appreciated!0 -
May 1 to June 11 Six Week Try Something New Challenge: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/113664-health-happiness-more
For this challenge I am going to write three things I am grateful for every day, video journal 3 days a week and do a written journal 4 times a week. With two jobs and lots of other activities in my life doing a video journal every day isn't feasible. It won't give me enough time to play around with editing plus despite how busy I am my life doesn't change enough to make a video journal every day interesting. It would get extremely repetitive in the end.
Yesterday was day one for video journalling (vlogging) which I posted to YouTube. They will no doubt be terrible to begin with until I get into the flow.

I added some more discussion threads to the group.
Stress Busters - what helps you destress that maybe others can try too.
Triumphs, Victories, Successes, and other Good News - for sharing those non-scale victories (NSV) or even just something that happened to was good news for you.
A Little Bit of Humour - Where members can add funny things that happened or funny conversations. Laughter is a good motivator and stress buster.
Discussion Suggestions - So members can highlight what they would like to see added to the group.
I am really hoping more people join so we can make it a truly positive supportive group.0 -
From the 'Today I am Grateful For...' thread...
"Today I am grateful for:
Chai tea which is a stress reliever for me and a nice way to start my day
My fitbit which keeps me motivated to take 10,000 steps a day
Living so close to work that I don't have to waste my time doing a lot of driving"0 -
From the "A Little Bit of Humour..." thread
Title: Now if you’ll excuse me I have a rodent to go talk to…
_________________________________________________________________
Friend 1: …I’m in and really looking forward to this, as long as we try to do it low cost…
Friend 2: Okay, this is great … what is the maximum you’d like to pay for your portion of the room?
EternalTruth: I would like to pay 20 pence, 1 squirrel, and the laughter of a child.
Friend 2: EternalTruth you’re ridiculous! So is $75 or less including taxes reasonable for all?
EternalTruth: Good for me. The squirrel will be disappointed, but maybe next time.

The newest thread to the group - Motivational Quotes
"Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy." ~ Norman Vincent Peale ~
Even if you stumble do not lose faith that you can accomplish your goals. Refocus, recommit, remember! Refocus on your goals, maybe they need a little adjusting but goals are what move us forward by giving us purpose. Recommit to your plan and actions. Remember why you are doing what you are doing, what end purpose are you trying to achieve and how will it benefit you.
