Coffee Protein

Looking for protein that will dissolve and taste good in coffee, or coffee proteins (coffee flavored with caffeine).
Any recommendations? I prefer lower sugar.

Protein coagulate at elevated temperature - denaturing. Can't imagine that looks great or has a nice mouthfeel .0

I usually make "iced" coffee. I brew a cup, put it in the fridge, get ready for work. Then put the cooled coffee and vanilla protein powder in the blender and pour it over ice. I find generally powders with casein blend better than 100% whey (I use Trutein). Not sure what would work in hot coffee...1

I tried protein powder in hot coffee...once. Blegh.0

I've been drinking the Chike coffee flavored protein powder. I don't like most protein drinks because of the texture, but this one is very drinkable and reminds me of an iced coffee. Makes for a great afternoon snack.0

This is what I do...I use ON Double Chocolate whey and it works just as well.0 -
Smoothie I have enjoyed in the past, it's cold - I agree with others, hot protein powder does not sound appealing or like it would blend well.
Coffee
Protein of your choice
Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
Unsweetened Cocoa
One frozen banana2 -
I've tried to use chocolate protein in warm milk (like protein hot chocolate) and for whatever reason it wasn't as flavorful warm as it typically is cold. I would go with an iced coffee application for this one.0

I put unflavored protein powder in my mid-temperature tea (not super hot, but not luke warm) and I don't have a problem. I just make sure I stir it up enough. Although it's unflavored, it still has a milk taste to it, so it could replace your creamer. It would probably taste better in coffee than tea, but I don't drink coffee, so it can make certain teas nasty, but I just drink it quickly, lol.0

I always keep a pitcher of iced coffee in my fridge. I brew it extra strong for iced coffee. I mix 1/2 c skim milk, 1T Splenda, 2 scoops vanilla protein powder (sometimes 1/2 scoop of chocolate) and some cold coffee in my ninja. Pour it over ice into 26oz travel cup, top off with cold coffee. 150 calories, 22 protein, 4 fiber. It's just perfect!1

Yeah, I make a smoothie like this, but instead of brewed coffee, I make it with 2 teaspoons instant espresso powder and 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder. The protein powder and banana combined should be sweet enough to fight the bitterness of those two things.0 -
I make my coffee, let it cool to room temp, put it in a blender bottle with my protein, shake it, then pour it back in my mug and microwave it for 30 seconds. I am not anti-iced coffee from now until mid-October though.0

Did it once, never again. It clumped up together into a nasty sludge with what looked like cottage cheese bits. I don't mind it if my food doesn't look good so I went ahead and took a sip.. big mistake! It tasted like a very bitter spoiled milk. You could try to make it with cold coffee, but I don't recommend using it in hot coffee at all.0

Tried it once too... ended up down the drain after one sip.0

As already mentioned, Casein mixes much better in hot liquids. If in doubt use a shaker cup or give it a quick blend with a hand immersion blender.0

Thanks for all the replies!! Unfortunately I'm not an iced coffee person (even in LA). Maybe I'll have to suck it up when it starts to get really hot out in July.
Anyone ever tried I Eat Protein's coffee protein?
