Getting a tattoo next week (half sleeve) was wondering if you have to stop exercising for a while after getting it done? If so how long?

That depends on what you are doing, and how much you are sweating. I had a tattoo put on my wrist 6 months ago and maybe took a day or two off.0

My artist suggested no running for a few days after I got a new tattoo on my chest (mostly a matter of the fabric from my shirt rubbing against it).0

when I got one on my back, my artist suggested to pause for 3-4 days0

Yeah I was thinking along the lines of a week. Thanks for your help0

A week should be good. Once it starts to peel, you're probably okay to start back up.0
