I've been doing pretty good with eating right, but when it comes to exercise and energy I have no motivation once so ever...seems all I want to do is sleep lately....any advice on getting my energy back?!?

Are you eating too little? How much are you eating and how does that compare to your maintenance calories? Have you exercised in the past?

I'm eating around 1300 cals a day. And I use to walk at least 2 miles a day and do yoga...now I just can't seem to do any of it.

What are your stats? Also, I would suggest opening your diary. There are many possible reasons for fatigue.

You may be lacking in one or more vitamins or macros. Changing your diet drastically can do that and we aren't aware of it until the fatigue sets in.

What foods are you eating? Have you eliminated anything?

OK. But, how many Cals were you eating before? Or, more specifically, how big is your current deficit?

I still eat what I ate before. Just a lot less.
    More veggies and fruits.
Iowa's eating around 2500 cals before I started counting.

Well, that makes sense then. You're consuming approximately half the Calories you were consuming before. That's a lot of energy your body was used to getting that it isn't now.

Running your numbers through a couple of calculators, I got anywhere from 1850-2000 Cals to maintain your weight. Maybe a good idea would be to increase your Calories to 1600 per day and start exercising lightly - ramping up your intensity when you can.

Do you get enough iron? Anemia can also cause fatigue. Is there any chance you could be pregnant? That can also cause fatigue especially in the first trimester. That was my first symptom.

I have anemia but I take iron supplements for it...maybe I should up my cals and see how that goes.

Also, congrats on your loss so far! Big change, which is taxing on the body so give yourself time to adapt.

I would eat more if I were you. Yes, you will lose weight more slowly but you'll also have more energy. You should be able to eat 1700-1800 and still easily lose weigh and have good energy levels.

That's a good idea. I don't know what your weight loss goal is, but if it is 2 pounds a week then I would definitely increase it. There is no rush.

I have it set to 1.5 pounds a week...I feel like if I increase my calories more that I won't lose anymore weight...I'll have to try 1 pound a week and see how it goes I suppose

You will still lose. It just takes a little longer. You might check with your doctor too and see that your dosage is good. But don't increase the iron without talking to the dr. And take the iron on an empty stomach if you can. If it upsets your stomach then eat a little food with it, but not milk or calcium and avoid antacids.

I'd say eat a little more. Pick a combo ofor protein and carbs to add into your day for power and fuel. I can't do jack on days I eat less than 1400, I feel awful especially by the end of the day when I'm trying to exercise.

If you're not wanting to eat more then drink coffee, play pump me up music, and just go!!

Also look into vitamins and minerals levels. I didn't even realize part of my energy and muscle issues was due to a severe vitamin D deficiency. I'm on 50k units once a week for 6 weeks then will need to continue with a daily supplement (probably until I lose a lot of body fat, it tends to leech the D away). I also swear by my B12 supplement. I absolutely feel a difference when I forget to take it! I have an oral suspension, first day I took it I felt it immediately! Since then it's just the lack of it that I notice but I definitely have plenty of energy to get through my day.

It's okay to feel it but don't base a decision on an illogical emotion. If you're losing 1.5 pounds a week, you're in an approximately 750 calorie deficit. If you were to up your calories by just 250 you'd still be in an approximately 500 calorie deficit. Still plenty far enough into the deficit zone to see a steady (though not linear) loss.

Check out symptoms for adrenal fatigue. I take adrenal cortex extract daily to help with fatigue!

Have you had your thyroid tested lately? One of the symptoms of low thyroid is low energy and brain fog.

You could also try making yourself just get dressed to work out and giving yourself permission to quit after 5 or 10 minutes if you still feel exhausted. For me, sometimes getting started is all I need. If you still just can't do it, I think eating a little more is probably a good idea.

If it makes you feel better, I'm quite a bit older than you, weigh less (so need lots fewer calories) and can only consistently do under 1300 if I'm just sitting around, and the weight still comes off.
