Worried about over doing it...

So I would love to workout a couple times a day. I would love to do a short run (2 - 3 miles) followed by some sort of strength workout each day, but I worry about over doing it. I don't want to injure myself. I currently do one main workout each day such as my run, or a 45 minute cardio kickboxing or a 45 minute strength workout. I also have some personal challenges that I do as well like a squat challenge, ab challenge and a plank challenge. Is it ok to do two workouts or should I just keep switching it up each day between the different workouts and keep it at 1 workout with my challenges?
