Marathon 2017

Hi Guys,

Yes! I finally got in for the Brighton Marathon.. any tips and advice would be appreciated :) I am loving running at the moment and I know I still have 11 months to train.. I am so excited already! At least this will keep me on track too as I have something to aim towards!

Any one else done or doing a Marathon? Would love to hear!

Congrats!!! I am running my first marathon this Sunday. Best advice I can give is to pick a structured program and start it early so that if you miss a week or so, you can make it up. Also, if you go with a beginner plan, they usually only have you running the amount of miles to get you across the finish line. If you want to really be prepared, run more than the program calls for. Also, don't increase mileage by more than 10% weekly.

If you haven't already, invest in good shoes and start experimenting with nutrition during long runs. Practice your race day strategy several times before the race.

Good luck and have fun with your training!!!
