Does anyone else take lyrica? I currently take 100mg 3x a day and i find it makes me completely ravenous. I try desperatley to control my appetite, but i have a tendency to binge eat as it is. Has anyone found ways to combat this side effect? It is as if i am beyond satiety. I know that food will not fufill me, yet i feel certain that it is the only thing that will. With lyrica i zoom in on it and get some comfort from food but i never reach the point at which i am full. In always feels almost right, but never complete. Does anyone know why this is or ways to combat it beyond willpower?

Sometimes those side effects can lesson after a few weeks. Otherwise, talk to the doc about switching to a weight neutral medication.

When a patient presents with or evolves to overweight or obese, agents that do not promote weight gain, are weight neutral or promote weight loss should obviously be considered. In all cases, these decisions assume that the primary condition can be managed effectively with the alternative agent and that other comorbid conditions are not negatively affected by any change in medication. Table 3 presents a summary of common agents used in epilepsy grouped by their effect on body weight. Note that these are not absolute classifications and that effects may differ among individuals and according to dosage and duration of therapy.

I was on it for nerve pain associated with spinal issues. I was on it for 3mths. I'd rather be in pain than be on it. I felt foggy on it. The pain relief I get from weight loss and the right kind of exercise has been significant verses what the med ever did.

I took it years ago and gained a lot on it. That was, of course, before I logged or tried to keep my weight in check. It helped a lot with pain though which was great!

Yes, i have tsken it for two years. I have had this side effect throughout most of this time. I need to stay on this medication as i have nerve damage that causes me extreme pain while off of it. I am not so much concerned about weight gain (i am not overweight) as i am about binging and overeating on lyrica. Are there some types of foods that are more satisfiying on lyrica? It just seems like ther emust be something that could assist me in self control.
