Fats shouldn't be paired with fruit?

Has anyone heard of this? Something about the fat blocks the insulin receptors so your body stores sugar?

No. Completely ridiculous.3

In all seriousness weight loss can be tedious enough without adding in arbitrary rules that are meaningless in reality. I cannot begin to think of any reason as to why you would need to eat this way but I am not a medical professional so maybe there is some scientifically based reason other than Woo.
I obviously need to hand back my 168 lbs lost and my 3 + years of maintaining because I have done everything wrong, ie Apple with cheese, PB.5 -
On the contrary a macro mixed meal provides a sustained burst of energy. An apple paired with peanut butter is just about perfect.2

Banana splits, FTW!!2

Did you hear this from Dr. Oz?1

thank you for the replies. I didn't hear it from Oz. It was a thread on a blog I follow on Facebook and decided to see what MFPs thought of this. I really don't put "fat" in my green smoothies (I prefer to eat it whole) just thought I'd ask.

All I could think of was real whipped cream on strawberries and now I want some.1

How could anyone who wasn't vegan give up cheese with fruit?2

Strawberry cheesecake. That is all.3

Apples and Brie disagree....1

Just think of brie and fruit-a classic. Nope, don't believe it's true.0

Why not? Fruit and I get along famously.2

I think whoever blogged that has a misunderstanding on how the body works. Pairing fats or proteins with carbs is a great idea as the digestion of the fats and proteins is a slower process which will help you to feel full longer, balancing out a fast burning fuel (carbs) with a slow burning fuel (fat). Even those in the low carb community tend to follow if you are going to eat carbs to pair them with another macro.0

Would this theory then mean that fatty fruits like coconut and avocado are totally off-limits? Because if that's the case, I want to punch whoever came up with this theory in the face.0
