If you are actually gaining, it's because you are eating more than you are burning. Are you weighing all your portions? Is it your time of month?

It's probably because you've been following the same diet and routine for awhile. Gotta change things up. Your body adapts to things. Time to shock it.

Do you use a food scale?
    What about sodium?
Did you increase your intensity in your workouts?

really? this myth is still holding...

OP weight loss is not linear and there could be a lot of reasons you are gaining.

    Start with the obvious

Eating more than you think...do you log accurately and consistently using a food scale and correct entries?
Are you eating back exercise calories? if so how many? and how are they recorded?
Water retention...have you had a lot of sodium lately? have you started a new exercise?
Are you stressed? Cortisol causes water retention.

Im always stresssed dude haha i dont use a food scale but i measure my food out with a measuring cup? Like cereal and i use table spoons when eating peanut butter or something. Stuff like that so i know im eating the right amount of calories. I eat whole grain bread & protein bars which im guessing the amount of calories is correct since its all on the package?

Nope, measuring cups and tablespoons are off by a lot; you'd be surprised how much a tablespoon of peanut butter actually is. Also, nutritional information on the package is off by a lot. I've had protein bars that were an extra 50 calories due to the difference in grams. If you don't have much to lose, a food scale is key for weight loss.

nope....to the bolded food labels can be off as much as 10%...

And let me tell you a secret...your serving of cereal which is 3/4 cup or 125G...125 grams is less than 3/4cup.

1/2c of cottage cheese vs 125g...125g is a lot more than 1/2c.

    peanut butter is the worst...

Stress raises cortisol which makes us hold water which can mask weight loss or make it appear we have gained...

But that being said start with the weighing vs measuring...you will find a huge difference.

Could you be gaining muscle? Muscle weighs more than fat.

OP if you are measuring food using cups and measuring spoons, stop that. You need a food scale.

Now 3 pounds in two weeks is about 10000 calories above your "maintenance", not your MFP deficit setup to count calories. I am pretty sure if you have been here trying to loose you did not even over measure food by this amount.

How about tracking your weight daily/weekly and keep in mind water retention due to sodium, carbs, time of the month and changes in exercise all cause water fluctuations. There really is two times a month a female will retail water due to hormones and that during the follicular and leutial phases during the month.

Track your trends using the scale, body measurements and how you look and feel in your clothes.

OP is not gaining muscle eating at a calorie deficit and doing cardio.

OP - you 'don't use a food scale' to quote you, well there's your problem right there! you are eating more than you think... (using cups to measure is just not accurate)
During TOM is natural to weigh a little heavier for around 5 to 7 days.

She won't be gaining muscle on a stair master or elliptical. Most likely her logging is off.

You haven't heard how inaccurate measuring cups are? Compare one cup to the proper serving size in grams as listed on the label and you'll probably see why. It's likely your BMR has dropped as you've lost weight and needs less to maintain now, so you're over eating. The food hasn't changed but your body has.
