Can walking lead to loss in muscle mass?

Walking daily,been seeing loss of fat but worried whether it might cause muscle loss!

If you're in a calorie deficit (which can be created through walking), some of the weight you lose will be muscle. You can reduce the amount of muscle you will lose through making sure your deficit isn't too large, doing resistance training, and getting sufficient protein.1
