I downloaded MFP about a month and a half ago because I knew I needed to once again start taking responsibility for what I eat. About a decade ago, I lost about 60 pounds but have gained about 20 of it back over the last three or so years.

I have always exercised, so that is not the problem. In fact, I run and do strength training three times a week and briskly walk the other days. The problem, for me, is eating more than I burn off. Gosh, I love food.

In any event, I don't do regular weigh-ins, but rather go by how my clothes fit. After 5 some odd weeks, they are fitting looser and I'm feeling better and lighter. I'm logging my food and exercise in every day and once again becoming accountable. If I lose a pound, a half a pound, or two pounds a week, I will be happy. It's the progress that's important to me.

My goal is to continue these better eating habits, the ones I learned when had a trainer and they taught me how to properly eat. While working out 3-4 times a week, I ate between 1350 and 1450 calories a day and I lost weight at about 2 pounds a week. It was fun, enlightening, and a great experience.

So, anyway, I'm here.
