Fasting tips?

What do you guys do when you start to feel nauseous or really hungry? I'm fasting today and maybe tomorrow too, and I feel so blah awful

Why fast? There's really no need to fast. Eat food! Eat the calories MFP allotted you when you set it up...

If you don't feel good, broth is a good choice. Fasting is not a good idea unless prepping for surgery.1

Fasting is a fantastic way to burn fat. I would never push beyond 24-30 hours though. There is plenty of research out there that can help you through the process, but what I do is a variation, where I eat for 6 hours a day and fast for 18 then one day a week fast for a full 24. With the 16 hours of fasting, I usually skip breakfast, and eat between 2pm and 8pm. Please don't listen to the people here, fasting isn't bad and it can be a great way to jump start your metabolism, and burn fat. I've been using it In conjunction with a keto diet and I've 20 pounds this past month.1

I read the intermediate fasting guide that was written by Mind Pump. You can find this guide that talks all about this on there site. I did pay for it but the data in valuable. I will provide a little timeline of how your body reacts after food is consumed. I have also read various other articles on fasting and they all point back to what this guide says. So you can continue to believe your broscience or you can educate yourself.

Just no ... it's three minutes without air, three days without water and three weeks without food. Or all my years of emergency management/disaster response training are wrong. The variances for an individual's health are very, very small. Especially air, because panic and exertion use up more oxygen, whether on water or on land. Or trapped under either one.0

Have some broth before you get nauseous.
There ARE valid reasons to do intermittent fasting.
But do take care of yourself.

If I were feeling that way, I would eat, purely and simply. Your body is trying to tell you something. You can effectively lose weight without having to torture yourself this way.0

I guess it depends on what they mean by feeling sick. If they're feeling light headed, dizzy, etc..then certainly.
If it were me personally and I started feeling nauseous during a workout, then I probably would at least slow down, or stop if it became worse, sure. I'm not a weightlifter, though, so I can't speak to whether that's a common thing or not during a weights workout.
I would also suppose that that feeling would likely not last too long..a few hours at most. Two days of battling nausea, on the other hand, sounds awful.0 -

Two days? Are you saying someone would fast for two days? Then your not doing intermediate fasting. I would never recommend more then 30 hours, even that is pushing it. I stick to about 24-26 hours depending on my days. I never feel sick or nausea during my fasting days. Actually I feel I have clearer thoughts and more energy throughout my days.

OP said she is fasting today and possibly tomorrow. She hasn't said how long the fasts are, so it's possibly all day.0 -

Go to the specialist groups here for real advice on topics like IF.
But since we're here: what are you doing? There's no IF protocol longer than a daily off-eating. So, at maximum with sleep factors, that might be ~30 hours.
