Sharing a tip that works for me cuz I love food

I keep to 1250 calories a day. I love food...I mean I really love to eat food that I love. Ok, you get it. So once a week I make a plan to go to a favorite restaurant for dinner- usually with a friend or two. I look at the menu on line and plan exactly what I'm going to order (including wine) and calculate the calories. On that day, I eat very light- maybe an orange for breakfast and a hard boiled egg for lunch with a cup of broth. Then for dinner I enjoy my planned menu. I realize starving myself all day once a week probably isn't the healthiest, but this gives me something to look forward to (not just the meal, but the time with my friends) and I don't feel deprived. Works for me!

I do this too, but usually more moderately and for a few days before hand instead of completely depriving myself the day of

I do this as well. I don't go out and eat but I do get an ice cream coffee once a week that has 460 calories and I always fit it into my day. But I eat closer around 1450 a day

I will usually look at my weekly calories and make sure I stay under that. If I don't have anything in the "bank" I will eat light as well.

Alot of people will fast, so I don't necessarily think of it as starving yourself ;)

Maybe allow yourself to eat at maintenance sometimes? You won't gain!

I did this the other day... light breakfast, no lunch, then had an excellent steak and shrimp dinner out. My mom was like "that's a bad idea..." No, I'm fine! Though my goal is much higher than yours.
