Maybe something with light hand weights or fitness bands?0

Are you trying to lose more? With the surgery coming up in a couple weeks, may I suggest focus on maintaining your weight right now, rather than losing any more? One of the indicators of post-surgical outcome is presurgical nutrition. Focus on getting enough nutritious foods and proteins into your body and then after you have recovered, worry about losing any additional weight you would like to lose. Unless, of course, your doctor has indicated that it is more important for you to reduce your weight. I'm not saying use it as an excuse to gain a bunch back either though. If I've made the presumption that you were trying to continue to lose, in error, forgive me. There are some seated exercise videos available on youTube. Do you swim? Is that something you could do for now?3

Hi I'm about to have my second hip done.Had planned to do it in August but my femur fractured 19 days post op.Wt gain has been an even bigger issue.I have gained back about 35 lbs as I can't exercise.I also quite smoking 6 months ago .The Dr.wanted me to stop working but that is impossible so he told me to stay put when I got home.He said he wanted my bone not to be pulling apart further. You can see in the X-ray where the bone pulled apart but has not filled in with new bone.I'm taking Calcium plus Vit D And K which improves Calcium exorbption the bone.Taking ina lot of vitc and also eating nuts for the Magnesium. Its been a tough road.0

Make sure you are keeping up with physical therapy after the surgery. There are great exercises you can do that will benefit you, and I would certainly recommend asking them to your doctor, and physical therapist. They will recommend exercises that suits you personally. Every case can be different, and would be crude to give you one here. However swimming is beneficial 99% of the time. If you have a pool around, I would recommend it, of course after you consulted your doctor.
One thing I would recommend though is monitoring your food intake. It is fantastic that you have stopped smoking however make sure this doesn't push you to eat more. Sounds like this was the case for you.

I'll give you my perspective. I had a double hip replacement last year. I have an arthritic knee that needs to be replaced and an arthritic shoulder that also needs to be replaced.
I remember I was bad as you before my hips and even though you're sitting down it's still hard because you move the hip the wrong way and the pain is extravagant. Once you get your hips fixed it's going to make it a lot easier to exercise. At this point I would talk to my doctor and see what he says as far as exercise
Now here comes the part you may not want to hear you don't have to exercise to lose weight it's it's just a matter of eating less calories than your body consumes. Plug your numbers into the app and follow them. Since January 1st 2016 I've lost 80 plus pounds. Realistically I figure no more than 10 pounds of that has come off as a result of exercise.0
