So about 2-3 times a week I crave a Ciggerate at night. Immediate regret after and terrible breath in the morning. Gets in the way of my cardio training and jiu jitsu and just how I feel mentally. I know it's not a BIG deal but I want to stop. Any tips on how I can get rid of this habit?

I had cut back to the point where I was having one each evening. I realized that it was just silly to keep it up. Since you aren't even doing it every night, you might find it easy enough to knuckle through for a week. The first three days were always the worst, then it got easier. It's been 6 years now since I quit, and just two days ago, I found myself craving one. Didn't do it, because I know better, but it was strange that it still pops up once in a while. You have your reasons. You can do it!

Hey congrats on quitting! Yeah it's all mental, I'll probably go for a walk next time. Thanks for sharing!

Hypnosis is really effective for certain people, and your doctor could direct you to a number of cessation aids. Trying to do it alone works for some people, but there is a TON of support out there to take advantage of if you want it.

Picture yourself in your 60's with a blocked artery and your vascular surgeon telling you if you don't quit smoking you'll be back in for bypass surgery because your stent won't work if you keep smoking. My husband quit cold turkey that day.

Cold turkey is the way to go. I quit 30 years ago. Back when you could smoke everywhere. Best decision ever.

Hey! That's awesome that you want to quit. I never smoked so I don't have advice on how to quit. I just wanted to speak up since you said it's not a big deal, and I know that due to my field of study (cancer) smoking is a big deal. I hope that you find the motivation and support you need to quit because smoking is extremely harmful and the outcomes from it can be avoided! Good luck
