Any good recipes that anyone has? I bought some at a health food store, but I really can't find much in regards to recipes with it! I'm sure its just like any other grain, but curious if anyone has any good recipes to try. Thanks!

I love couscous, it cooks so quickly. It's actually a tiny wheat pasta, so you can use it in grain or pasta recipes. I'll just have it with some marinara sauce when I'm feeling lazy. This recipe with peanut sauce looks good:

I use cous cous as a thickening agent. Pasta sauce, korma sauce, bouef bourgignon, chicken asparagus bake, all + a handful of cous cous.

I also cook cous cous as a side dish, where you can do whatever you want.

Just cook 1 part cous cous to 1 part liquid, and add anything you want.

    Eg:

    1 onion, finely sliced
    ! carrot, finely sliced
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    I teaspoon garlic paste
    1 teaspoon curry powder
    1 teaspoon powdered cumin
    1 cup cous cous
1 cup chicken stock (1 cup water, 1 cube chicken stock)

Fry all the veges and oil until they look done. Put in all the rest, bring to the boil, turn off the heat, cover and sit for 5 minutes.

    Apologies to cous cous purists!

I sautee onion and garlic in olive oil then add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add couscous and stir. Turn off heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Season as you like and enjoy. You can also add other veggies to your sautee.

I agree with those who would cook it in broth and add the veggies of your choice! I really think couscous go well with onions, garlic, peas and squash, but pretty much anything you want to throw in there would be delicious.

The thing to remember is 1 part cous cous to 1 part liquid.
