Hey guys! I have two questions. The first is as the title suggests, is it safe for me go running and do strength training in the same day? I usually go running for about 40-50 minutes and I've just started incorporating weights and other strength exercises so the weights are only 5 pounds....

My second question is, is walking adequate exercise? I usually run on my off days but after work sometimes running is such a bother...I trying to maintain my current weight and also get more toned so would walking for an hour a couple days out of the week instead of running be okay?

Walking works for me :) I often do cardio and strength though I'd focus on upper body strength rather than legs if I'd already worked them.

Absolutely it's safe! I usually do the strength training first, though, or else i'll be worn out.

    Go for it!

Walking is awesome if you have lots of time on your hands.

I think any combo of exercise is ok as long as your body copes with it well. this trainer i saw also said to do weights before cardio. i always get really hungry the day that I do both though so sometimes I go over my calorie target
