I was thinking about starting this diet.

Anyone doing this?

Tips/advice?

Quick break down of your daily food intake?

Thanks

I did it for a week to break myself of all the simple sugars i had been consuming. Which was quite a bit I couldnt continue it because I couldnt have fruit which i love. Its not one I could pick for a long term commitment. Its alot of meat which im not a really big meat fan. I do still try to avoid simple sugars and shoot for more complex carbs and whole grain. Hope this helps! Good luck

One of my friends is a bodybuilder. They use the diet to lose fat and build muscle. You need to be checked for any renal problems before you start this since your kidneys work overtime on it. Limit soy since it can lead to zinc deficiency and reporductive problems, not to mention many sources are genetically modified...

meal plans would include scrambled eggs and sausages for breakfast, couple of hamburgers without buns for lunch and steak for dinner, with a couple of protein bars or a protein shake in between.

    Here's a couple ideas

    Breakfast
2 eggs (scrambled or boiled with low fat margarine)
    2 pieces of sliced toast
    1 sausage link
½ sliced grapefruit or orange, or 3 slices of tomatoes
    ½ cup low-fat milk

    Lunch
2 slices of whole wheat bread
3 oz chicken salad (3 oz chicken with ½ tsp light mayonnaise and 4 grape halves)
    1 cup sliced vegetables
8 oz water, unsweetened tea or coffee

    Evening Snacks
½ cup cottage cheese with peaches or pineapples
2 tsp peanut butter with celery
    1oz peanuts or mixed nuts

    Dinner
1 cup of green beans, carrots or broccoli
4 oz lean chicken, beef, pork or fish (cooked or pan fried)

    or

    Breakfast
Steak and egg, either boiled or scrambled
One cup of tea or coffee without milk

    Lunch
Pita pocket loaded with tuna salad
    Almonds (smaller serving size)

    Dinner
Cauliflower and broccoli mixture with broiled salmon
    Glass of seltzer water

In between, you can have a few mixed nuts and scoop of peanut butter.

i basically eat high protein, its what was recommended to me after I was banded. I eat protein (lean) with every meal..with veggies/fruit and whole grains.
The combination of eating your carbs with a protein helps it to not spike your blood sugars.
I am rarely hungry (could be the band).

Yeah I eat carbs...mostly in whole grain..or fruit or potato..I probably eat alittle more than the recommend..I was told to not eat carbs with my supper..
But I just had some potato wedges and chicken.
I really need to make veggies a bigger priority.
But example of a typical day.

oatmeal, berries, and chopped almonds or walnuts.

greek yogurt and berries (greek yogurt has 18gr of protein/serving and low fat)

chicken and veggie and carb.. sometimes @ work I have a loaded baked potato which isn't really high protein...but I like it.

banana and natural peanut butter or almond butter and apple

on "good" days..chicken spinach salad with nuts, tomatoes berries, ect.
on "bad" days..brown rice or potato and chicken or fish and veggie

I'm trying to intake 1200 calories - 1/3 protein, 1/3 carbs, 1/3 fats. Trying to have 30-50 grams of fiber and exercising daily. So far in a week and 1/2 I've lost 4.5 lbs. The hard part is giving up the carbs - even carrots have carbs! But I'm eating around 300 calories for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and eating three 100 calorie snacks. Good luck!
