Food before/after

Do you ever look back on how you were eating before and just think... wow? It occurred to me to put in an average weekday's worth of food before I started thinking more carefully about my food choices into MFP just to see how much it added up to, and a totally standard Monday-Friday could see me eating at least 3,000 calories. Even when I first started on MFP I was only on 1,700, and that's dropped to 1,480 as my weight has dropped, so I've essentially halved my calorie intake in a short amount of time, and it feels fine. It hasn't stopped me eating out, eating what I enjoy, feeling full, it's just not the constant excess I was used to. Has anyone else compared the 'before' and 'after' of food and been totally taken aback?
