Walden Farms

For those of you who use Walden Farms products, which ones do you recommend? I heard there are a few products to not even waste my time on... so I wanted to see which ones you all think are the best. Will only be using these for treats on sundaes and waffles once or twice a week, as I've heard these products tend to cause bloating.

I've yet to taste one I've liked. They all taste way too artificial. But hopefully you will find some that you like1

None. Not something I was use during maintenance. I would rather work on portion control (my downfall).
The maple syrup gets mostly good reviews. But the few bad reviews are very bad. The chocolate syrup is similar.
The peanut butter gets horrible reviews. Go with PB2 (peanut flour) if you don't know about that one already.1 -

If you're going to have a treat, I say have a treat. Don't put calorie free nonsense on it.0 -
I'm leary of anything that you can put in your pie hole that is calorie free...so I don't use them at all. I've heard the peanut butter is especially vile, but that some of the salad dressings are ok...again, I'd rather just use some balsamic.0

I am not one to be scared of chemicals, but zero calorie peanut butter and maple syrup is beyond my limits. That can't be good and clearly is a complete chemical *kitten* storm.1

If I really want a dressing such as ranch I just water the bottle down. None of the Walden Farms stuff taste good. And is expensive. I've made a fake ranch with cottage cheese. I'm sure you could google a recipe. As far as syrup, i don't use it. Sprinkle some cinnamon and some maybe some stevia on a waffle and it's good.0

Has anyone tried the chocolate syrup?0

I like the chocolate syrup. I also bake with the Marshmallow dip and chocolate dip. For a low cal mug cake. the chocolate dip or marshmallow dip make the microwave mug cake moist since just using egg whites, protein isolate powder and a little almond milk, stevia, would make it really dry either of these two dips makes them dense and moist. I use their salad dressings as well.
Edit: Also they dont bloat and stay away from the peanut butter anything ones...0 -
I've found that the maple syrup is the only one really worth having. Don't think you can douse your pancakes in it and have it taste like the real stuff, but in small amounts it *almost* tastes like what it's supposed to.0

Have you searched the forums for "walden farms" there are at least a dozen threads which are really helpful offering opinions!0

Ive tried 90% of them. Everyones taste is different, and none of them will taste palatable unless you are used to artificial sweeteners and low salt flavors. That being said, the ranch dressings are the best items. The asian dressings are okay. The dips, ketchup, mayo, etc r disgusting. May as well eat paste.0

IMO the best ones are
-Balsamic dressing
-Sun dried tomato Italian dressing
-All the syrups (mainly chocolate, maple, and caramel though)
-Marshmallow fluff when incorporated into something is good, like mixed with almond butter on a sweet potato.
-their coffee creamers are actually pretty good
-their jams and jellies are good if you microwave for a couple seconds and drizzle over toast or if you put in toast then put it back in a toaster oven to let melt a little.
The Asian and ginger dressing for stir fry is pretty good when you use a little while cooking.
Other than that I'm not too hot on any of their other products0 -
Ive gone through more bottles of the pancake and chocolate syrup than Im willing to admit LOL. But I do like super sweet foods and I dont care if its a bit artificial tasting0

thanks for all the feedback. I just ordered all the syrups: chocolate, strawberry, blueberry, pancake, and caramel0

I really like the pancake syrup and fruity salad dressing0

I use the Caesar, Ranch, bleu cheese, and thousand island dressings, I like them. My nutritionist says no, but I eat them anyways.0

And that's why nutritionists get harassed....cause most don't know what they're saying. Unless you have a sodium issue.....there's no problem with them.0 -
I like the cole slaw mix.0

It's such a personal thing, isn't it. I tried the caramel syrup a couple years ago. Tried it once and then it sat in my fridge for six months untouched. Just didn't like it. But I don't like artificial sweeteners in general so I'm not sure what I was thinking when I bought it! Just wishing for a miracle, I guess. If you don't mind artificial sweeteners, give it a try.0

i use the pancake syrup - its actually not bad at all (taste-wise)0

I tried a few different products when I did low carb. The worst was probably the tomato basil marinara. It was God awful and too sweet. The bbq sauce was okay but too watery. I don't even waste my money on their products anymore. There are so many other products that are cheaper and don't lack the flavor.0

The only one that I ca stand is the french vanilla coffee creamer.0

I have only tried the peanut butter and I wanted to undo eating it immediately. Honestly I wouldn't ever try one again.0
