Hypermobile joints and ANW training

I found out the hard way that I have hypermobile joints when I threw myself into training for American Ninja Warrior (ANW) and strained my elbow and shoulder so badly that my range of motion was severely limited for a couple of months. Before the injury, playing on the ninja obstacles was such a good, challenging kind of fun, and I’ve been eager to get back to it but know that my body isn’t ready.
I’ve gone to physical therapy for the past 5 ½ months, and as I was coming to the end of it, they recommended that I try rock climbing as a good transitional activity to get back to ninja training. I went rock climbing for the first time at an indoor gym a couple of weeks ago, and it took an entire week for my body to recover before I could do arm exercises again.
I’m going to keep up with the exercises that physical therapy gave me, I plan on doing rock climbing (it was fun!) once or twice a month as my body allows, and I’m considering signing up with a personal trainer to get continued guidance in building strength before I get back to ANW training.
So, in the meantime, I’m wondering if anyone else with hypermobile joints does ninja warrior training? I'm wondering how others deal with the struggle to find a way to keep facing the obstacles in a safer way to avoid more strains and sprains? I’m hoping for some inspiration and advice!
I got the ninja bug and I’m not ready to give up just because genetics cursed me with bad tendons!

Hi I was just diagnosed. I'm trying to adjust my mindset while I learn how to exercise with this syndrome. @SnoozeE5120
