I'm drinking my breakfast smoothie as we speak.....
Banana/strawberry smoothie (390 cals)
60g banana
50g strawberries (I use frozen because they are cheaper at this time of year)
30g rolled oats
250g skim milk
15g peanut butter (currently I have the no added sugar or salt version) or crushed peanuts
1 splash of vanilla extract
If I'm organised, I get everything (except banana) ready in the blender container the night before and leave it in the fridge, so in the morning I just add the nana, blend it up and I'm good to go.
I vary the ingredients a lot, depending on what fruit is in season (or in the freezer), I add more or less oats, peanut butter, different kinds of nuts (pistachios or cashews are great). It's easy to reduce the calories by using less nuts/oats/banana.
I usually have something like this on running days when I have the calories to spare, this keeps me full for most of the morning.0 -

Just make sure you don't turn them into sugar bombs.
I have an inlaw that makes them with ice cream.
She adds chia seeds to call them healthy.3 -
I make breakfast smoothies: this makes 4 smoothies: 2 cups plain fat free yogurt, 4 tablespoons sesame tahini, 1 tablespoon chia seed, 3 tablespoons ground flax seed, big handful of fresh greens, 1 ounce walnuts, 1 big banana, 2 cups frozen berries, and water for processing. It keeps me full till lunch and is high in protein and nutrients.1

It blends to basically nothing (can't taste it either) so it's a nice way to get an extra half serving of leafy green veggies.

Greens in smoothies is a natural fit. You get a veggie serving and don't even taste it.1

We like 1 cup frozen fruit, 1 scoop whey, a spoonful of yogurt, 1 cup V8 Fusion (the one without HFCS), and ice.
I do not like spinach, kale, beets, those things I will eat as vegetables, in salad or as cooked things. Not in a smoothie.0
