Hi. I would like some advice here. We're having a family get together tonight and a Chinese takeaway is on menu! What would be the 'healthiest option'? I'm thinking chow mein but would like to know what you guys on here would order. Many thanks :)

I think chow mein is one of the last things I would consider ordering because the calories in the noodles add up so fast. The good thing about Chinese takeout is you can get really any meat and veggies steamed without sauce. I usually get steamed chicken and broccoli with a side of rice so I can measure out myself. And then I splurge with an eggroll or 2.

I like steamed veggies with brown rice and then a lil bit of orange chicken, maybe something spicy because spice boosts your metabolism. low sodium soy sauce if you use it

Steamed protein and veggies, sauce on the side. My favorite is the plain steamed chicken and broccoli.

Moo goo gai pan - eat it without the rice and it's like 300 calories per 1 cup portion

Protein that isn't deep fried, vegetables, sauce on the side, I'd avoid chow mein and rice if you're trying to save calories.

I'd order anything I fancy then get back to deficit calories the day after.

    Steamed dumplings and wonton soup.
Steamed shrimp with veggies (so boring though).
