Good evening MFP!
Long story short, I'm set to have my third child any day now (Or May 9th, whichever comes first ). My kids were born 2013, 2014 a year and a day later, now this little one will come soon. I only had a 3 month window between the first two, and I hadn't gained more than 15 pounds with the first.
I went on bed rest with the second and gained nearly 100 pounds. My fault. Completely.
After her birth, I said I'd give myself a solid year before I actively attempted losing weight. I watched what I ate and ate healthily, but if I wanted ice cream, I ate it. I lost about 20 pounds, then two months in to Weight Watchers I found out I was pregnant with our wonderful surprise.
I'm done having babies, which is bittersweet, but I'm excited to get myself back together.
I need to get back in shape. I want to give my kids a good example to follow. I also have an autoimmune disease commonly known as HS, and I absolutely noticed its exponentially worse with the extra weight.
Upon doing research, I'm seeing a lot of mutual HS sufferers going Paleo and swearing by it. I'm going to try it and see how it works. I wasn't able to breastfeed my daughter because the medication I was on for HS is a class D regarding pregnancy and breastfeeding. I'd like to attempt it this time, so eliminating is the first step to see if it helps! So anyone who is Paleo, feel free to Pm or add me, I could use the help!!
Anyway, I'm looking to hit the ground running as soon as this little one makes its appearance (no idea what gender!) and I'm hoping the Paleo route helps me to not need certain medications, if any. We'll see.
Anyway, hello!
