Dukan Diet and Field Hockey Training

Hi, I'm new to this site, so if I posted this in the wrong spot then I apologize! Anyways I've been looking into the Dukan diet as a solution for weight loss ( I want to lose about 35 lbs.). It seemed resonanble and a diet that I could maintain. My only concern is that I'm training for my up coming field hockey season which is cardio intensive. For two weeks in August I'll be exercising for 4-5 hours a day in the heat and also competing in games, then I'll go on to have several games a week and practice for two and half months. I wouldn't be in attack phase but I would be in the 2nd phase I believe. Does anyone know if this would be a good diet for training or would it be a bad idea because it's so carb restricted? Any answers will help! Thanks.

Not good if it's carb restricted. While you can burn more fat, if the intensity of the practices and workouts are hard enough, you can actually cause muscle loss (and in extreme cases rhabdomyolysis) as well as low carbs will affect your actual performance on the field.
