Where are all my CrossFitters at? (For those of you not CrossFitters I don't care about how dangerous you've "heard" CrossFit is)
What got you started on CrossFit? Why do you love it? How many times a week do you go? When did you begin? How much have you improved since beginning?

I guess the crickets are the only ones not afraid of the danger.0

There are some CrossFit groups you might want to check out.

Started: I worked as a trainer for a kettlebell studio that shared space with a crossfit box and would workout with the crossfitters before my sessions began.
Love it: Cause it's a fun challenge.
I was averaging 2x a week. I like it, but it's not my only mode of training.
I started probably a year and a half ago, but only the last 8-10 months more serious.
I'll let you know this years Murph time compared to last. I've definitely got better at many of the skill moves. Still not a fan of the Olympic stuff. Still suck at double unders.

Thanks Disasterman. I looked through a few of them but none of them appeared to be active. 25 pages of groups is a bit crazy though.
Rybo, that's awesome. I've been doing it about 6 months. I hate everything metcon (haha) and love almost everything else (except wall balls). I like hearing about other people's experience with it! It's motivating! I try to hit the gym 3-5x a week but I've been averaging 3 lately. My "box" had an 8 week fitness challenge back in January and I won the women's division. I lost 25 lbs, lost some inches, increased my front squat by 25 lbs and increased by benchmark WOD by 20 reps. I love that I don't have to think about it and the social atmosphere. Having people to talk to and joke with every time I'm there keeps me going!0 -
I started almost a year ago after resisting for about a year and half. I finally decided I was getting bored working out on my own, and I was getting tired of the normal split type workouts I'd been doing all that time. The competitive and team nature of the whole thing intrigued me, so I gave it a go and found I loved it. I'll never go back to normal gym workouts again.
I normally CrossFit 5-6 days a week and have never been fitter in my life. I was worried at first I wouldn't get stronger while doing CrossFit (vs. normal gym workouts) but I've found that not to be the case. I'm overall stronger than I have ever been, and every time we re-test for 1RM I see my max weight going up.
I'm always looking for new CF friends. Check out my diary and if you think we'd match send me a FR. Just mention you do CF, since I tend to decline blank FRs.0
