As said on your other thread about this-timing doesn't do anything.

I've taken 200+ grams of carb meals multiple times a week after 11pm. Helps me sleep(: timing is irrelevant in terms of overall macronutrients intake

Higher carbs in the evening, since I have dawn phenomenon & can't eat much in the way of carbs before noon without elevating my blood sugar.

The only thing I've noticed about carbs is if I have a bagel (carbs) for breakfast before my run, I have more energy than if I have sausage and eggs (fat, protein) before my run (then I feel heavy and tired).
Could also be a fluke, I don't know.

Timing doesn't matter, unless you have a medical condition that is influenced by the timing of carbohydrates (like diabetes).

I'm diabetic, and this is what I've more recently noticed:
    • I cannot eat the ADA's "recommended" 45-60g of carbs at breakfast, unless I want to see my blood sugar head into the 300s or add so much fat/protein to the meal that I'm eating 600-800 calories. I am more insulin resistant in the mornings, unless I exercise.
    • If I exercise my usual amount in the morning (two 60-80min walking sessions while I get caught up on Netflix), then I am able to consume at least 60-70g of carbs at breakfast without seeing major spikes (quite the opposite -I need to consume carbs to keep my BG from going low while exercising)
    • I'm really sensitive to insulin in the afternoon and evening, so often I can eat more carbs for the same amount of insulin compared to my breakfast (insulin to carb ratio is 1:15 at breakfast and 1:20+ at lunch/dinner).
    • The evening is a tough one to figure out. I'm starting to wake up with higher fasting BGs, and I'm currently trying to troubleshoot whether it's from too little insulin taken for my bedtime snack, too little basal insulin overnight, or if I'm experiencing a delayed spike due to the protein in my snack (I often eat 25-30g of protein at bedtime and probably 60-80g of carbs)

No fluke. Muscles are fueled primarily on carbohydrate, which are generally the preferred energy source for exercise.

So, will add this to the conversation, as I know the point you are trying convey, I just think there need to be some context given as you made an absolute No inferred statement.

Linking to a thread about this topic specifically with associated research studies which are the basis of both Eric Helms and Dr. Mike Israetel's independent diet hierarchy they have published in various media. The topic is about the use of some dieting templates from Renaissance Periodization whose basis is in carb timing/cycling as well as protein spacing.

I think majoring in the minors. For the vast majority, it really isn't going matter nor would it be worth the time and effort.

Personally, I don't eat grains or starches most evenings with my dinner...but it's more of a calorie control strategy than anything else as I don't log.
