What the... not keen on ready-made meals, but anyway. Bought a pack of 'pulled pork with BBQ Sauce' from UK Aldi today. The calorie amount is mentioned as 304kcal per 1/2 pack (1 serving, contains 2 servings of 128 grams oven cooked). But the back of the package also mentions '380 grams' in the package. Does more than 120 grams just go 'poof' when cooking this product in the oven?

Sounds likely, it's called evaporation - all that steam produced.

Yes, true. Quiet telling about the quality of this meat I guess :/ Oh well.. keeps husband happy, and I'm sure the taste is good enough. Needs to be grilled for 40 minutes, btw, pulled apart and then back into the oven for another while.

Most meat is >50% Water - add up the fat and protein then subtract from 100.

all uk supplies are legally obliged to state the cals per 100g.this is the stat i use.
some places like aldi/lidl play a bit fast and loose with "serving size" imo.

Yes, seems more realistic. I'll certainly weight this product after cooking it as I'm curious myself on how much 'weight' vanished from preparing it and how much 'half a pack' really is.
