I feel like I can't do anything right :-(

I don't know what the heck I'm doing. I feel like I have too much information about losing weight, and I don't know which information is trustworthy or where to start. I tend to be an all or nothing person and feel like I have to do everything right. How can I start well and continue the momentum? is changing one or two habits at a time enough?

The TRUTH about weight loss is that you need to consume less calories than you burn. It's Calories In vs. Calories Out. This app will help you count your calories so you can achieve the calorie deficit needed for weight loss.
First step, try logging your food. You can do that. Then pat yourself on the back for taking a step in the RIGHT direction.
Next step, stay at or slightly under your calorie goal. Add exercise calories in when you do something outside of the norm.
Watch the scale over two weeks so see if there is a loss.
Notice I didn't say anything about CHANGING what you eat. What I described above is what you need to do to lose weight. To improve health, satiety, and body composition, you can start looking at your diet and what you eat. But don't try to do a 360 and eliminate foods, food groups, or try a fad diet. Why not, instead try adding in some MORE fruits/veg/whole minimally processed foods.
Remember this is something you are going to need to adhere to and sustain for awhile.5 -
@arditarose I don't know about the eating part, I'm starting to get pretty bored with what I eat. I might need to learn how to cook :-O
Should I get someone to look at my food diary at the end of the 2 weeks?

Yeah, that's not a bad idea.
You know, when I started this I did not cook. I live in NYC and literally ate every lunch out and stopped by the deli or ordered in every night. I just laughed at people when they said I should cook. Now I can't imagine it any other way. Now...I don't use the OVEN or anything lol. But I can put veg and meat on the stove and create great tasting/simple dishes that fit in my calorie goal. Stress on the "simple".1 -

I'm super lazy. I'm hungry most of the time, so I usually want the food *right now*. I would be super happy if my fridge was overflowing with healthy snacks that I could just grab. Our house is full of ingrediants and low on actual food.0 -

If a dinner takes me more than 5-10 minutes to make, I'm not eating it. I have to cook it after 12-14 hour long day running around the city/working out.0 -

Do you have a list of recipes you use, or do you just throw random things together?0
