Hi. I'm due to go on holiday in a week and I'll be ultra all inclusive, so plenty of temptation

I don't want to completely lose track of where I am, so I plan on watching what I eat (letting my hair down a little of course) and using the gym a few times whilst there.
I don't plan on walking around the buffet cart with my weighing scales (embarrassment alert!), but I would like to attempt some form of calorie counting still whilst there, I'm just not sure how without my scales?
Any tips would be most welcome0 -
Be aware of the portion sizes you eat now and visually compare that to what is on your plate when you are away.
If it is all inclusive, don't waste calories eating something mediocre, save them for the good stuff.
Of the 3 meals a day I eat while on a cruise, I will let one be a calorie blaster and reign the other 2 back appropriately.
Ie if I have seen the dinner menu and want to eat all 4 courses my lunch for the day will be salad. Conversely if I want fresh waffles with the works for breakfast I will make a 2 course lighter choice for dinner.
Common sense with portion size goes a long way.
Have fun, h.0 -
depends on the deficit you are trying to achieve. If you wanna hit 1500 calories a day, i suggest getting a fist worth of carbohydrates, and a palm full of protein, and then a thumb worth of something semi fatty... 3 times a day.
that's the easy way to look at it in my eyes... works for me at least...0 -
Thanks for the replies. I'm currently eating 1478 calories on a workout day and around 200 less on a gym free day.
I'm a real dinner girl at home, often saving lots of calories so I can enjoy a nice evening meal. So I think both your tips are great. I'll eat lighter and more sensibly for breakfast/lunch and then let go a little more for dinner, but equally watching my portion sizes.
Thanks for the ideas0 -
I'm not going to count calories or diet on holiday I'm hoping I don't put weight on or much as I do tons of walking. But if I do I'll burn it off when I get home hopefully0

When on holidays I keep mindful of portion sizes, don't overdo the breads/puddings and be active. I've never gained more than a few pounds when away (and I cruise so I know all about all inclusive eating), that gain is gone within a few weeks as its mostly sodium related /water weight.
Go and enjoy your holiday, have a great time away, you wont undo all your good work in a week or two. As soon as you come back get back to counting calories again right away and all will be well.0
