Increase your calories by changing your goals to 1/2 pound a week for a month to allow yourself to get more comfortable. Perhaps you have cut out too many food items. Are you including in your food plan foods that you enjoy?
Did you set up your kitchen to make things easy to prepare? (getting appliances off the counter that you do not use, buying a gadget or two that is easy to use . . . . ).
Do you cook large meals and portion them out to freeze?
Above all, make sure that you are weighing your food with a food scale.

If you aren't losing anymore re calculate your calories. As we drop weigh we need fewer calories.
    Also make sure you are
weighing and logging all your food
    measuring all liquids
using the appropriate entries from the data base- USDA
eating back 50-75% of your exercise calories.

Don't let menopause stop you from losing weight. It is a natural process that plays havoc with your hormones so pay attention to what is happening with your body. A check up with your doctor may be a good thing.

I lost during menopause and by the end of it I was in the best shape of my life.
I'm 62 now and have maintained my weight and improved my fitness levels over the past 6 years.

    You can do it!

    Cheers, h.

So if you give it up, where will you be? Eat healthy, follow your doctor's advice for exercise, take your medications, and keep a diary. I'm right there with you. It's a mindset. I picture myself thin, do whatever moves me toward my goal; and this morning I walked right past the bagels in the gym like they weren't even there! Look, from one chubby baby boomer female to another, We Got This!

I find that having goals other than the number on the scale helps immensely with discouragement about your weight loss stalling. I set an exercise goal, and focusing on that helps me keep my mind off food, especially since I personally have struggled with moderation and using it as a coping mechanism. I don't know you or your struggles, but if something like a scale value is enough to cause you to throw in the towel, it's time for you to re-evaluate. Why do you want to lose weight?

Okay. Go ahead. Quit. That'll show.....

    you.

Seriously I get the frustration. I get frustrated sometimes too. It isn't easy. But if you give up you have 100% chance of not succeeding. At least if you are trying you have some chance of success. Stop expecting perfection. Slow progress is still progress. Stalls happen. If they last longer than a few weeks start looking harder at what you are doing and figure out what you need to fix.
