I have a maybe strange thing I've been thinking about. When I was younger I never had problems with my weight, I was fit and thin and didn't think about it much, Didn't matter what I ate my weight stayed roughly the same. Now 10-15 years later my body acts the same way If I just eat without thinking about it I stay around the same weight. The "Homeostasis weight" is just higher now. I'm curious if this is a common phenomenon for everyone. I'm wanting to not just lose weight but help my body get into a place where it moves that weight down, I'm thinking that changing my metabolism so that my body burns more calories will help. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see what others experiences are?

What you're experiencing is maintenance. Your calorie needs have changed but your intake either didn't change or crept up some. There's probably nothing wrong with your metabolism (if you think there might be, consult a doctor), and the only way to increase it is to consistently move more and/or put on muscle.0
