New to all!

Okay, so i've never been on a "diet" or had a "regular" workout routine; however, I am at the point in my life where i realized...I need to change. I'm 23, work in an office, am getting ready to pursue my next degree, and am reeeaaaallllyyy overweight, and can't wait to start loosing the extra weight. So tips, motivation, and possibly accountability would be totally awesome and appreciated. I don't plan to "diet" but to change my eating habits completely for life, and any advice on workouts would be great because in addition to loosing weight I want to be fit and feel good about myself. So cheers to new beginnings!!!

I think that changing your eating habits is the key.....................I am 60 and have been on and off of a diet since 15. Take care and take walks and what ever exercise you enjoy so you will stick withit

Welcome to MFP , its great that you are trying to make changes to your lifestyle instead of doing a diet . Take it one day at a time and you will get to your goal . Good luck on your journey and feel free to add me :-)

I have had issues with my ankles over the past 3 years and have put on more weight than I like to admit. Now that I am over the most recent ankle surgery, I have taken up walking. I have lost 10lbs so far and can tell a difference in the way my clothing fits. I have been faithful at logging my food to help keep me accountable. It also has opened my eyes to how much sodium and how many calories certain foods contain. I also have a good friend who is a great encourager. For me just the change in awareness and walking have made a great difference. I pray that all using this site will achieve their goals.

The best advice is the one you have given yourself already: I don't plan to "diet" but to change my eating habits completely for life

Drastic changes overnight tend to not work. Start with small changes and add on. You did not gain the weight overnight, it will not come off overnight. Same with fitness. Start with anything that you enjoy and can stick with. And then when read, add more on. Get yourself friends here (feel free to add me if you like) to help encourage you and keep you honest when you need it.

    Welcome aboard!

Cheers! Feel free to add me if you'd like. Here's what I wrote in my forum intro:

Hello. I've been away from MFP for some time but I am back and want to start using it more frequently. If you would like, please read my profile to find out more about me.

    For now:

-If you are someone who is interested in seeing what someone else is doing here, you are positive and you are not dependent on others for your happiness then you may want to consider following me.

-I have opened my diary, profile and blog to the public for those that are curious as to what someone else does here on MFP.

-I'm open to gaining "friends" who would like to follow my progress as little or as often as they want.

-I am currently interested in using the MFP site as a tool in my journey with food and movement rather than as a social network and will likely rarely communicate with the "friends" I make.

-When I do communicate I only post positive feedback.

-If "friends" want to communicate with me I respectfully ask that they consider posting minimal positive feedback and not taking it personally if I don't reciprocate. (Like I stated above...not really here for the social network).

Thanks so much for considering and have a great day!
