Knee injury - exercise suggestions please!

I have some ligament damage to my left knee from a skiing trip. Annoying as I can't run until healed! Can anyone suggest some at home exercises that I can without putting weight on the knee? Thanks!

    No weight at all?
Straight leg lifts and leg extensions (against a resistance band) were the start point of my rehab but you don't mention which ligament is damaged or the severity.

Haven't you had specific advice from your Physio?

(Re. swimming - good suggestion but my particular injury meant I was banned from breast stroke kick but could do freestyle kick.)

did you see a doctor? skiing can cause pretty bad ligament injuries. how old is your injury what what ligament did you damage? stationary Bike is really good for knee injuries, leg lifts and heel digs are good and bend and straighten your leg a bunch during the day to keep it from scaring up as it heals. But if you have major damage, your knee may never be the same so you should see a doctor to find out what is wrong.

and swimming is generally not good for knee injuries.

Any kind of stregth training exercises are good. I have had three total knee replacements in a three year time frame. Leg exercises I do are rideing an seated Ellipitical bike, leg curls weight machine, outter thigh machine, leg extensions and leg press.Ankel pumps, leg abductions with a resistant band. clam shell exercise with legs are just some of the exercise I have done and continue to do. All have been cleard by my physcial therapist

talk to your doctor. yes, you could do lighter exercises, but it might be a good idea to make sure you haven't torn something you could make worse.

Give you a little background tore my ACL and MCL when I was skiing years ago. ACL has totally disintegrated MCL was healed. Before you begin any kind of workout program you need to talk to an orthopedic surgeon a regular doctor won't be any help. Without knowing the extent of your damage there's no way of analyzing what and what you can't do.

In the meanwhile if you want to do cardio work and have access to a pool a pool is great
