My MIL was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, with metastasis and several tumors in chest bone, lungs, etc. this was back in '99... Doctors gave her 2 years top, if all possible treatments worked! Well, she's still with us, thankfully! Her oncologists call her their miracle patient... One of the things they attribute to her continued success, besides the medical treatment of course, is the amount of physical activity! She walks and bikes miles per day, does Pilates, and other fitness classes that come her way! I believe it must be triggering some healthy fighter jets to go and attack those ugly cancer cells!!

Weight lifting and biking helped my wife recover from chemo in dramatic fashion. It's fascinating though to read that article and the potential for exercise to help the body fight cancer itself. I'll have to go back later and see if I can find the studies they are discussing. I honestly can't imagine someone lifting weights through chemo though. Walking can be a real battle during that time.
