We are totally the Jack Sprat nursery rhyme couple. He is tall and too thin at 135 and I am short and in need of a whittled middle...yet I exercise 6 days a week...darn crappy metabolism! Getting the skinny guy moving by meeting him for a lunchtime walk as a way to talk, get moving and have time together without our 3 lovable yet energy sucking kids!

Mine doesn't exercise. He is in construction so he says that his job is his physical activity. Yet when we went to Virginia Beach last summer and rented a surrey to pedal on the boardwalk, he was huffing and puffing and I was doing the majority of the work without getting tired! LOL Enjoy your quiet time together!2

hey, my husband is 6' 7" and i'm 5' 3" - i used to be much rounder and he used to be pretty slim.
btw, if you want to lose weight, eat at a deficit; exercise doesn't burn as much as you can cut from your meals.3 -
You will whittle that middle much faster and easier by whittling the calories. Sorry I know you don't want to hear that (none of us do) but that's just the way it is.1

True but there's nothing wrong with adding exercise as well, especially cardio vascular which is important for over all health. Also it seems to me that this is a way for the OP to spend some alone time with her husband. No harm in it at all.2 -
I am trying to do both...Cut calories and chart becoming more conscientious what and how much I eat as well as exercise....it would be neice at certain times have a partner to add some chat and time together to make it more enjoyable. I don't mind exercise but company especially my non exercising overly busy hubby was a way to connect so we both got something out of it. I think it is going to be our Tuesday thing! Sadly, I should have put this plan into motion earlier in the school year and not the last 6 weeks before summer vacation!
Chill people...I am not saying I only started exercising today...nor am I saying I am only going to exercise on Tuesdays....I am also not saying I don't chart and cut meal portions.
Sometimes I feel like I really have to lay out every piece of info out as a preemptive to some of the critical backlash hits. As some of you clearly saw...it was just a harmless post as a way to reconnect on a walk with my husband who clearly doesn't need as much focus on diet and exercise as I do.2 -
i hear ya with the walking without kids. my "kids" are covered in fur, have tails, and walk on all fours. LMAO. but my husband loves walking with me. he doesn't usually need exercise, but it does help both of us relax. he is about 1 foot taller than me, so i am usually walking REALLY fast to keep up with him.
since we have a furry child, we often will go to the fenced in off leash dog park and walk around the perimiter while our child sniffs and barks at the other dogs.2 -

Lol. Yes that's what you have to do here. Isn't it ridiculous.
Awesome way to have time with hubby without the little ones. I wish my husband worked close enough for us to do that. Have fun.1 -

I was not being critical at all, in fact I saw NOTHING critical posted. I commented about diet as you stated you wanted to lose weight, and you had not mentioned diet changes. No need to get all defensive about nothing.0 -
People just want to make sure you have the right information- there is a lot of bad information- and a lot of assuming that goes on- as calories wasn't initially mentioned- but the "whittling" was- someone was trying to make sure you had the right information.
its' not ridiculous to provide accurate information to someone you aren't sure has the data or not.
It's pretty straight forward.
Being said- my BF isn't much of a "fitness" type person- even though he used to train quite a bit. Sigh. oh well. Sometimes we go for walks- but I'm a gym junkie- and he hates the gym. So walking the dog is the middle ground LOL.0 -

I just noticed your username; do you play bass? (perhaps a stupid question...)0 -
It's nice that you found the walk together enjoyable and will make a regular thing of it.0
