No weightloss

Typically I find that I cannot loose weight when I start a program especially when I start working out regularly. I want to believe that I am swapping out muscle gain for fat loss. Is this typical? Because it seems it is for me.

No, it's probably just your body holding increased water from the new exercise program. It's pretty common.1

I have the same problem. Counting calories and I work out 2-4 times a week and have no scale validation. I can tell my clothes are fitting differently but I would love to see pounds come off too0

No you aren't swapping out fat or muscle. Your muscles are retaining water. When your body is used to your new routine the "scale pounds" will come off. Weight loss isn't linear, you probably won't lose weight every week especially if you have 10 or less pounds to lose.1
